This Privacy Policy explains how Planning Digital Services Limited (“we”, “us”) processes information when you use Plimbu at plimbu.co.uk.
Plimbu is a product of Planning Digital Services Limited. We aim to be clear and proportionate. Plimbu is designed so you can explore a home project without creating an account.

What Plimbu does
Plimbu is an online tool that helps homeowners explore early design ideas, planning-route signals, indicative costs and next steps for common home projects. It is informational only and is not formal planning or architectural advice.
Information we process
Depending on how you use Plimbu, we may process:
- Property details you enter or select — such as postcode, chosen address, location coordinates and related property attributes
- Proposal details — such as project type, size, height, roof and materials choices
- Assessment outputs shown in the product — such as planning-route signals, constraint flags, indicative costs and next steps
- Images generated in your browser — such as a proposal preview used on the Summary screen and in a downloadable PDF
- Technical information — such as approximate device type needed to run the website, and standard server logs held by our hosting provider
- Messages you send us — such as emails to [email protected]
Where information is stored
In your browser
Most of your project work is stored on your device using browser storage (session storage and, in some cases, local storage). This lets Plimbu remember your progress while you move between steps. It can include address, postcode, proposal settings and a temporary proposal image used for Summary and PDF.
If you clear your browser storage, or use another device or browser, that project data will usually be lost.
On our systems and processors
- Postcode and address lookup — when you search for a property, your postcode is sent to our lookup services so we can return matching addresses. Lookup responses may be cached for performance.
- Map and constraint services — location information may be used to fetch map tiles and planning-constraint data relevant to your property.
- Hosting — the website is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure, which processes requests needed to deliver the service.
- Email — if you email us, your message and email address are processed so we can respond.
We do not require you to create a Plimbu account to use the planner.
Generated PDFs
Summary PDFs are created in your browser and downloaded to your device. We do not upload the finished PDF to Plimbu servers as part of normal use.
Analytics
For the current public launch, Plimbu does not run first-party product analytics that create visitor IDs or send usage events to our analytics endpoints.
Third-party services we use
Depending on the page, Plimbu may use:
- Address and location data providers (for postcode/address lookup)
- Map and spatial data providers (for maps and planning-constraint context)
- Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery)
- Google Fonts (to load the website typeface)
- Google Maps imagery in some preview contexts, where enabled
These providers process information only as needed to provide their service to us.
Why we process personal data
We process information to:
- Provide the Plimbu planner and Summary/PDF features you ask for
- Look up addresses and show relevant site context
- Keep the service secure and working
- Respond when you contact us
Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more lawful bases such as performing a service you request, our legitimate interests in operating a secure website, and consent where required for optional communications.
How long we keep information
- Browser storage — until you clear it, or until the browser removes session data
- Lookup caches — for a limited period to improve performance
- Emails you send us — for as long as needed to handle your request and keep a reasonable business record
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict certain personal data, and to object to some processing. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
To exercise your rights, email [email protected].
Children
Plimbu is intended for adults planning home projects. It is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this policy as Plimbu changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do.
